Hi everyone,

I really need help from someone who has been able to make changes to the Forms that is created with Frontpage.

The problem we have is that the Form we use on our website, once they are filled out submitted by the visitor to the site and is sent to other customers who use our service.  The From address email is "username@server.lunarpages.com" and we don't want that, we want the From Address email to be one that we select by ourselves.  Is there a code that we can include in the Frontpage Form that will allow us to change the From Address email.

Thanks for the help.

That's usually due to incorrect syntax. Could you please show the code for the from line, but preferably the rest, too?

Thanx Thu2 for your quick help,

Actually I don't get any syntax error.  The Form works fine.  The only thing that we are trying to change is the From Address Email.  So when the Form arrives to our customer and he opens it up in his email software he sees in the From Address field and email address and currently it is written as "username@server.lunarpages.com" and we don't like that we want to place our own email address.

So is their a way in the Form that this could be set up or is there a code we can use to insert in the Form to all us to include our own From Address Email.

I don't know the answer to your question (I'd like to know also) but note that you can specify the subject line of the email in the form properties. You could have as the subject... From "Your Company Name"

With my previous host, emails from a FP form came from webmaster@mydomain.org. Now, they come from the LP server as described above. I haven't done anything different to my form, so the from address must be set by LP in some way. Do any of the staff know if this can be changed?

Please show the code. It might or not be an error. If it is an error, it's not one that would manifest itself in any other way than to show up as username@server.lunarpages.com for the From adress.

Dan,

Do you get a lot of spam to your form email address(es)? Spam bots can gather email addresses from the source code of forms generated by Front Page.

Here is the code for the webbot portion of the form which is on the contact page of my website www.full-life.org.

Code:
<form method="POST" action="--WEBBOT-SELF--" onSubmit="location.href='_derived/nortbots.htm';return false;" WEBBOT-onSubmit>
  <!--webbot bot="SaveResults" u-file="_private/form_results.txt" s-format="TEXT/TSV" s-label-fields="TRUE" b-reverse-chronology="FALSE" u-file="_private/form_results.htm" s-format="HTML/BR" s-label-fields="TRUE" b-reverse-chronology="FALSE" s-email-format="TEXT/PRE" s-email-address="form@full-life.org" b-email-label-fields="TRUE" b-email-replyto-from-field="TRUE" s-email-replyto="Contact_Email" b-email-subject-from-field="TRUE" s-email-subject="Contact_FullName" s-date-format="%A %B %d, %Y" s-time-format="%I:%M:%S %p" s-builtin-fields="Date Time" s-form-fields="Newsletter Info Contact_FullName Contact_StreetAddress Contact_City Contact_State Contact_ZipCode Contact_Email Contact_HomePhone Comments " u-confirmation-url="request_submission.htm" startspan --><input TYPE="hidden" NAME="VTI-GROUP" VALUE="0"><!--webbot bot="SaveResults" endspan i-checksum="43374" -->

I give out various emails from our domain to a lot for various mailing lists and I do get spam. However, I have Spam Assassin on and it just puts it all in a folder which I check and delete, so it's not a big problem.

For what it's worth, all of my forms do the same thing. Emails come from username@server.lunarpages.com. I assume that's because the server is actually the entity sending the email.
