Does this web host truly support FrontPage Extensions?

I have been using FrontPage 2002 for years on the other hosting company and I publish an update to my web site almost every day. In that time, the other hosting company has worked flawlessly. Now that they have transitioned to vDeck 3.0 and it has gone to * in a handbasket. They advertise that they still support FrontPage but their new platform has been *. I haven't been able to publish a full update since the previous Monday night because their FrontPage Extensions doesn't work correctly.

Lastly, their tech support recommended that I completely delete all my files and then reload them again. However, their FrontPage Extensions still doesn't work and their senior tech person won't be in until Monday morning (and he still has a backlog) so I haven't been able to publish. Instead of having a broken web site that could at least have visitors, I don't have anything running.

Does this place truly support FrontPage Extensions or does it just pay lip service to people who are still using FrontPage. I need an honest answer before I switch over to here.

Yes, we do support Frontpage and Frontpage extensions.  Hopefully a few other customers can stop by here and give you their opinions too as far as or support goes.  If not though, you might do some reading here:

Hope that helps!  Thumbs Up

I have several web accounts here at LunarPages and have been around quite a while, which you can tell from my post count  Very Happy

I use FP for all of my sites and can say without hesitation that LP with cPanel has the best FP support of any of the hosts I've been with. Beyond this active forum where you can get peer-to-peer support, the features of the cPanel control panel interract in a very friendly way with FrontPage.

For example, you can use the cPanel method of password protecting a FrontPage folder instead of the rather clunky FrontPage subweb method. This is not true at many hosts.

As a second example, you can use cPanel to create a subdomain that does not bother FP, install a separate set of FrontPage extensions on the subdomain, and use FrontPage to Publish a complete separate web to the subdomain. Using the "Add-on Domain" feature, you can even automatically send a second domain name directly to the web in the subdomain.

As one last example, you can use the Fantastico feature in cPanel to select a free template in Templates Express, have it installed in your main site or in a subdomain, then use FrontPage to edit the pages and publish the changes.

These are just a few of the FP friendly features that may not be immediately visible.

Now that I have been with Lunar Pages for almost two weeks and publishing every day, I can honestly say that everything has worked flawlessly. I haven't had any problems with FrontPage because everything works fine.
