Seems like lots of folks have trouble with forms, FP and LP.  Here is my current error that is received when submitting:
Application Error
An error has occurred in the program

configuration file not found: [inquiries] at ChemicoonInquiries.pl line 100

The form (which at one time worked):  www.chemicoons.com/contact_us.htm

Please help!

I'm not really sure about forms in FP, but the error message seems to indicate that there is a missing file. Your form is calling a file, http://www.chemicoons.com/cgi-bin/ChemicoonInquiries.pl I tried to see if the file exists. I got a 500 error, which I can't decipher. Have you made sure that the file is properly placed in that location?

I was trying to start over using StevenP's tutorial.  I am now having trouble accessing it as well.  I have renamed Tfmail to ChemicoonInquiries, and done all of that, put it within the public_html folder, into cgi-bin, etc....but no luck.  I will try again.

TranzNDance,
I have redone the beginning of the tutorial, and am looking at my cpanel with a chemicoons folder, and within are the three folders lib, log & cfg.  Within the cfg folder are the following three files:  NMStreq.pm, NMSCharset.pm & MIME_Lite.pm.
Within the public_html is a folder cgi-bin, and within it is the chemicoons.pl and chemicoons_config.pl files.  Both have their preferences set at 755.
HELP!

Of most recent, when I redid the tutorial, I changed the names from ChemicoonInquiries to chemicoons.....just for clarification.

The file that the form is looking for is: ChemicoonInquiries.pl (note inquiries)

Capitalization matters. So I'm not sure if the file is missing, it's misnamed, or the form just has the incorrect name in the form tag.

I'm not sure what you're using, but it seems you're calling a perl script, which does not appear to be a FrontPage form.

I'm wondering if you've tried creating the form with FrontPage. They usually work pretty well and are easy to create.

Rick,
When I first started this web page design (many months ago), I tried using FP's easy form design with it sending the results to my email address.
It won't allow that and tells me that FP Extensions have not been configured to send email (it does this when I simply go through Form Properties and ask it to use an email rather than saving the results as a file).  Do you have another way to make it work?
I'd love the help.

No, I don't have any magic for that... it's always worked for me out of the box here at LunarPages. Of course you would need to

* install the FrontPage server extensions in the LunarPage control panel, and

* publish your site using FrontPage http publishing, not FTP.

Rick,
I have done both, from the start..install FP extensions & publish only via HTTP, not FTP.  Do you have your form results sending to email, or saving to a file?

The FP form simply gives the error message because the form will not work on your local web which doesn't have FP extensions installed. Simply ignore the error, publish the form to your FP enabled site at LP and it should work fine. My FP site has the FP form and it writes responses to a file and sends me the results by email as well. Works great!

Yes, mine also sends results to a file as well as emailing.
