ETA: I don't know what changed but when I attempted to connect via SharePoint again, it worked. First time in about 9 months. Thanks anyway.

Hello, I've been publishing via SharePoint Services and had very few problems until recently. Several months ago when I went to publish changes, I was unable to connect via SharePoint. In contacting Support, they had me start using ftp. This has been working so so. I tried uninstalling the FP extensions, cleaned up the old ones, and reinstalled. When I went to connect via SharePoint, I got the log in prompt and thought I was good, but then got this:

'"405 Method Not Allowed
Method Not Allowed The requested method GET is not allowed for the URL /index.htm. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.  Apache/1.3.42 Server at sierrachorus.org Port 80  "

Any ideas on how I can get back to using SharePoint successfully?

Since the error message refers to the page index.htm, try substituting a different page for index.htm.

* Open the web

* Rename index.htm to index.htm.old

* Create a new page and rename it index.htm.

* Add only text to the page: "Hello World". Save the page and see if it misbehaves.

 This will tell you if there is a problem on this specific page. if the error does not reoccur you know that the problem is something on the original page and you can troubleshoot it by selectively eliminating components from the page.

Look in the source code for the word GET. This may be on the code for a form. So it there is a form on the page eliminate that first.
