I am interested in the dedicated plan III on a Windows 2003 platform. I did ask these questions on a support call but assume that I asked too much. We are a South African based ISP with our own hosting servers in SA but want to expand our hosting offering to the US because it is much cheaper.
My questions are:
1. Does the 235$ include the server's security ie firewall protection and what is it?
2. Can I choose to have Plesk as Control Panel and would there be a extra cost to it?
3. How long after the order is placed is the server ready.
4. Is the Windows 2003 license included in the price
5. What is the extra cost of MS SQL server per processor on this server.
6. Will MySQL, APache and PHP be preloaded?
7. Because we are South Africa based how do we pay?
8. If we pay on a month to onth basis when do we pay the setup fee?
9. What mail server will be loaded or will it be Plesk's mail server?
10. We have our own DNS server in SA. I don't want to register a domain with Lunar pages becuase we manage our own DNS. Is this possible?

Hello,

The servers are all behind firewalls, but they don't each have their own firewalls, because that would push the price really high. We just block things if necessary on the main firewalls. You may want to install a software firewall too.

All our Windows servers come with Plesk as standard (included in the cost)

We normally set servers up within 24 hours. Most of the time it is less time.

The price includes Windows 2003 Server web edition.

PHP, MySQL are preloaded with Plesk, but it uses IIS not Apache.

We have clients in South Africa already, you can pay by check, credit card, money order, even paypal.

For a month to month payment, you pay the setup fee at the beginning when the server is setup. After 3 months, the cost of the setup fee goes towards the 4th month of hosting.

The mail would be handled by Plesk's mail server.

You can use an external DNS server. We set up the servers by default with their own nameserver software running, but you don't have to use it.

Last of all, as you are an ISP and may want your own custom setup, please note that we can supply any operating system you like on our servers, just let us know and we can give you a quote. We are flexible, I'm sure we can come up with something.

If you have any questions, please e-mail dedicated@lunarpages.com , as these forums aren't staffed 24/7, they are just unofficial support. We also have live chat for our dedicated servers at www.dedicated@lunarpages.com

Thanks for your help.

My only other question is what is the bandwidth speed availability for a dedicated server?

Hi,

Each dedicated server is connected at 100 megabit (just normal ethernet speed).

They aren't capped.
