Can you please provide the message you got (skipping the details that can identify you, of course) here? This will allow to provide you with a specific advise.
This is the message...
IMPORTANT: Do not ignore this email.
The hostname (server.bluelgue.us) resolves to . It should resolve to 209.200.246.211. Please be sure to correct /etc/hosts as well as the 'A' entry in zone file for the domain.
Some are all of these problems can be caused by
/etc/resolv.conf being setup incorrectly. Please check this file if you
believe everything else is correct.
You may be able to
automatically correct this problem by using the ' Add an A entry for your
hostname ' under ' Dns Functions ' in your Web Host ManagerI have contacted Lunarpages about this aswell and they said...
Hello,
The issue should be resolved and you should no longer receive the email :
root@server [~]# dig A server.blueglue.us @IP REMOVED +short
IP REMOVED
root@server [~]# dig A server.blueglue.us @IP REMOVED +short
IP REMOVED
You seem to be using the correct nameservers :
Name Server: NS1.BLUEGLUE.US
Name Server: NS2.BLUEGLUE.US
The primary nameserver seems to be set alright :
$ ping ns1.blueglue.us
PING ns1.blueglue.us (IP REMOVED) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from SERVER NAME REMOVED (IP REMOVED): icmp_seq=1 ttl=53 time=17.2 ms
--- ns1.blueglue.us ping statistics ---
1 packets transmitted, 1 received, 0% packet loss, time 0ms
However, the secondary nameserver isn't properly set :
$ ping ns2.blueglue.us
ping: unknown host ns2.blueglue.us
Please make sure that the secondary nameserver is also registered and properly set as the A records for it are setup fine on the server :
IP REMOVED
[margaritm@endora ~]$ dig A ns2.blueglue.us @IP REMOVED +short
IP REMOVED
[margaritm@endora ~]$ dig A ns2.blueglue.us @IP REMOVED +short
IP REMOVED
As you can see, ns2.blueglue.us would need to be registered using 209.200.246.212. Finally, you can use either ns1.blueglue.us or 209.200.246.211 to connect to FTP as both are pointing to the same IP. I hope this is helpful. Please check and let us know if you have any other questions or issues. We will be happy to respond to them. Thank you !
So i finally contacted my Domain registrant about this but they seemed clueless and havent contacted me back back yet...
