We just got a dedicated server setup as an upgrade for a domain already hosted with lunarpages on a shared server.

My question is should we use the nameserver setup on the new dedicated machine (and worry about the extra server load and security issues related to BIND) or can we just use Network Solutions advanced DNS tools since the domain is registered with them. They do offer A Name, MX and CNAME-- seems like everything we'd need. We could use NetSol's advanced DNS to point our domain name to our dedicated server's IP. There's only one site running on the server.

Hello, I would contact dedicated@lunarpages.com on this situation as there may not be a blanket answer that would work for everybody with this question.  They might need to look into the exact details of your account.  Thanks!

Hi Mobiletechreview,

You can point your domain to Network Solutions' nameservers and use their DNS management tools to configure it for a n IP address on the dedicated server if you find this more handy for you. This should work like a charm.
