Hi All,

The web site I designed allows users to upload photos of themselves.  I wanted to place my photos directory in the public_html/WEB-INF directory, but I can't seem to access any of the photos from there.  I get a 403 error when trying to type the name of the file in the web browser.

Is WEB-INF off limits?  If so, I guess I can place the photos directory under public_html instead.

Each jsp enabled account gets a root WEB-INF (which is in public_html/WEB-INF) where you can upload your servlets to and jsp's can be placed.

For images I suggest you use the folder in public_html called images or create a new folder calling it whatever you like in the public_html directory.

Are you running jsp?

Amy and Charles,

Thank you for your suggestions!

Charles, changing the permissions on the WEB-INF dir didn't work  "[Frown]"   I tried that before posting.

Amy, your suggestion was on target.  I created a photos dir underneath WEB-INF vs using the images dir, since I don't want the graphics designer to accidentally overwrite the photos people upload.

Yes I am using JSPs.

Also, I did e-mail Kelvin and this was his response:

"Yes it is, the WEB-INF is protect by Resin and it won't allow any http requests from it."

Hi Matt,

So it actually allowed you to access images under WEB-INF via http?

Oops!  I meant to say I created a photos directory underneath the public_html directory, NOT underneath the WEB-INF directory.

I'm sorry if I caused any confusion.
