How many people would be interested in a weekly/monthly/whatever graphic design contest.  Each week/month/whatever, your friendly neighborhood moderators could come up with the ground rules for that week's/month's/whatever's contest.  Then at the end of the w/m/w (that's easier to type), we can have a poll to vote on them.  Or we could just keep it fun without the voting.  Either way, it's a good exercise to keep your skills sharp.  Let me know if there is enough interest in this and I'll start organizing.

What about a "Photoshop this picture" contest... you supply the initial picture and we modify it in whatever way we want (humourous, artistic, etc.)

TechTV's "The Screen Savers" has a similar contest.

I had thought about a Photoshopping contest, but those mostly hone your clipping abilities.  I was thinking of more diverse contests that would touch on several different areas.  Then again, if a Photoshopping contest is what you guys want, well us mods are here to make you happy.

Either way, anyone who wants in on this, post and we'll get this thing going.

We could also organize photoshop battles. They're always fun  "[Smile]"

but a weekly contest would be interesting. i love those that we have over at the xsi base  "[Smile]"

Should we start working on a theme mike?

Photoshop would be good, Say find a pic and you have to modify it, or you could just set something to make and see who come sup with the best design. But i think that the contest should be photoshop only because of how much better the designs can be if say done in 3ds aswell, and it wouldnt be fair on them people who only use photoshop and dont have a clue about max or maya.  "[Big   "[tongue]"    "[talker]"

Mike: what a great idea, as we have been having fun doing this logo contest.  Besides it keeps you on edge, makes your creative juices flow, and this group looks like they are all good.  Rocknrob has out done herself with logos...Very good job..okay

Ok, sounds good.  I'll start the first contest this Friday (I'm going to hunt for a good source pic...heh).  The contest will run until next Friday when one of us mods will whip up a new source pic.  Wash, rinse, repeat as needed.
