Open Adobe Photoshop  and create a new file or open an existing file you wish to create transparency on. If a new file make sure the mode is anything but Bitmap.

This isn't a real post. Check out all of alevin46's posts and you'll see this is a bot.

Here is how you can make a transparent image:

-   Open Adobe Photoshop and open an exiting file or a new file in which you want to create transparency on. If it is a new file, ensure that is not Bitmap.
-   You will something called the Magic Erase, select it.
-   Click on the part of the image you want to make transparent.
-   After you have got the transparency you want click on Image and then Mode and click Indexed Colour. If you wish to change any settings, change it and click Ok.
-   Once completed, save the file as a .gif image.

Follow this step to make transparent image.

The GIMP

   1. Open The GIMP and create a new file or open an existing file you wish to create transparency on.
   2. Select the "Selects regions by color" tool or press Ctrl + O. Once selected click the portion of the image you want transparent. For example, clicking on the white background of an image. If you wish to not have borders around the non-transparent portions of the image you will need to increase the Threshold by dragging the slider to the right.
   3. Once the area you wish to make transparent is selected Click Layer, Transparency, and then select Add Alpha Channel.
   4. Click Edit and then select Clear or press Ctrl + K. The selected portion should turn now appear as a checkered background indicating it is transparent.
   5. After you've got the transparent background you want click Image, Mode, and then Indexed. In the Indexed Color conversion box change any settings you wish or simply click Ok.
   6. Finally, once the above has been completed save the image as a .gif image for example mypicture.gif.

It's depends if you trying to make an image or on webpage.

If you want to have transparent image on website, I recommend using opacity in CSS, Don't forget about alpha filter to make it work in Internet Explorer as will.

Here is example:

<img src="image-here.jpg" width="150" height="113" alt="image"
style="opacity:0.4;filter:alpha(opacity=40)" />

Opacity and alpha filter in CSS is also amazing to create amazing navigation menu, such as drop down menu and etc...

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions regarding this.

Thank you!
