APOLLO Planned Move - 14th July 2017
« on: July 14, 2017, 01:37:24 AM »
Dear Customer,

APOLLO will begin a planned move to a new server on 14th July 2017. This move is required in order to upgrade the server operating system from CentOS 5, which has been phased out for support, to CentOS 7.x. The exact time and date for the switch to the new hardware will be announced through the 'Network Status' section of your https://account.lunarpages.com account at least 24 hours in advance, after the first phase of the data copy process has been done. You will experience no downtime during this process, although we do suggest no significant changes be made to your site after you receive the second announcement.

We will also be updating MySQL 5.6, Apache 2.4 and PHP to the latest stable releases from their respective release trees. In addition to PHP 5.6, we will also provide PHP 7.x using the latest EasyApache installation from CPanel.

We have backups on hand for all databases in the event of any issues with the upgrade process. For more details on MySQL and specifically MySQL 5.6 series, please review the changelog at http://dev.mysql.com/doc/relnotes/mysql/5.6/en/index.html.

It is also necessary to update following Ruby on Rails packages:

Ruby 2.3.1p112
Rails 5.0.0
Gem 2.5.1
Phusion Passenger 5.0.30
Node.js

Please note that your account may be affected if you use Ruby On Rails applications. For such case, to ensure the update goes smoothly for you, please ensure that your Ruby on Rails applications support Ruby Gems 2.5.1.

For detailed info on what will change please see Ruby Gems/rails changelog at https://github.com/rubygems/rubygems/blob/master/History.txt

Please note that you may check the current status for this server at any time in CAP via https://account.lunarpages.com/ with your cPanel username and password, then by clicking the Network Status icon. Additionally, the move will result in completely giving up on the FrontPage extensions, which are now deprecated and have been replaced with WebDAV.

Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience in the interim. If you have any issues with your site, please contact support@lunarpages.com

Dear Customer,

APOLLO has finished first data mirroring and will be switched to the new server for operating system version upgrade on 19th July 2017 around 2 AM Pacific time. There will be one more data synchronisation process issued before the switch to move over the latest changes from the original server.

As always, you may check the current status for this server at any time in CAP via https://account.lunarpages.com/ with your cPanel username and password, then by clicking the Network Status icon.

Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience in the interim. If you have any issues with your site, please contact support@lunarpages.com
