how to manipulate cookies using JavaScript
« on: December 28, 2011, 07:55:17 PM »
Cookies are small amounts of data stored by the web browser. They allow you to store particular information about a user and retrieve it every time they visit your pages. Each user has their own unique set of cookies.  A great feature of JavaScript is that it lets you set and retrieve browser cookies . Hope you can show me how to manipulate cookies using JavaScript  , thanks .

Cookies can be accessible through the property document.cookie and it can be created, read and erased by javascript.

You can actually do this. But what are you trying to achieve, manipulate cookies in order to achieve what goal?

You can access cookie information using the document.cookie object. This object contains all the cookies in the string format name=value; name=value;

Careful before setting this on production. Google can penalize you if ever you get caught.

Care to explain this? Google doesn't normally care about cookies on a site. What kind of cookie manipulation will bring problems?
