Well, who'da thunk.  I contacted google about this error and they actually responded...and within 24 hours to boot!:

"Re: [#55626243] Search results error.

Thank you for your note. We're aware of this problem, and our engineers are currently investigating. We hope to have this fixed soon. We appreciate your patience, and thanks for taking the time to write.

Seriously though, this definitely seemed to be an odd issue, especially when I could get different results at the same time from two machines running with almost identical configurations.

And just think, we can all point to you know and say that you helped make google better and into what it is today Smile

lol, yeah, I was shocked to get the response at all.

Only one other time did a big company contact me about a bug report, and believe it or not it was Microsoft.  They actually called me on the phone about a glitch I pointed out to them in Streets & Trips.  I had shown them a screen shot of a problem that they were not able to replicate, so I walked some dude through it.

Seemed he was eager to solve it, but now, 3 versions later, they've still not solved the issue...  Confused
