mussavcom -

Are you being a little wise-butt (like Garvey-TINZ) or are you serious?  Scanman20 and Coon answered this for you in the following thread when you asked that same question.  Did you have wax in your ears?  Luff Ya

Actually, your PR is just 0.  Depending on how long your www.donkeypunchproductions.com site has been active, it is typical to have a PR of 0 for a while.

I imagine having a site that is devoid of meaningful content could also be a problem.

Nah, most online sites are devoid of meaning, so that can't be it...I visit those kinds of sites on a daily basis. (My site, on the other hand, is chock full of awesome content and meaningful dialogue.  Wink )

Aren't other people happy about something or wanting to brag?  Come on now, don't be shy.   Wink   I'll continue bragging a little then to get things going.

My PR bump on Google has led to another wonderful happenstance, my placement in the search for one of my keywords best garden.  Just type best garden in Google and I am now #4.  I almost had a heart attack when I saw this incredulous sight.

So, here is the result to show I am telling the truth (showing a pic cause I know my placement in the search will likely decrease any day now):

How on earth a PR 3 site ends up #4 for best garden baffles me, but I am going to encourage people to do what I did if you want to increase your keyword placement.  Basically, get into dmoz however you can, include a pdf file on your site (since after Google spidered the pdf, my PR increased by 2 places), and put your keywords into your domain name.  There are other things like getting links from other sites that are important, but these 3 are ones I don't think as many people think about doing to increase your placement.

Okay, share share share your current happiness, too. Please  Applause

Congats Mir Smile

LOL.. funniest thing happened yesterday.. going through my friends website logs (after he was thretened to shut it down by the police because it has some true stories of police harrassment) and I discovered that one of his pages where he talks about how a local dealership employee broke into his car and took his stereo - while it was being repaired. Turns out that searchign for "georgetown honda" lists him as the #4 site Smile LOL.. great advertising for them! Nows my chance to go talk to them and see if I can get a webdesign job to help improve their web ranking!

Quote from: Coon

Your site has a PR and that's it. It's calculated by incoming links and those that are going from your site.

What is it used for? Is it basically the number of links anywhere on the internet that link to your site, and the number of links you have on your site?

Its basically how important your site is to google. How relavent it is on the web. a PR of 3/4 is fairly good a PR of 10 - I have yet to see. Even google and Microsoft only are aroun 7-9

Your Page Rank (PR) is simply a measure of its importances on the net in relation to other similar sites.

Kata, both www.altavista.com and www.google.com have a PR of 10...I'm not sure what you are talking about.
