I'm brainstorming some ideas for my friend's non-profit website face lift.
I've recently taken on WordPress theme for my business's site (as per some advice I received in the past from people here on the forum), which is currently in the process of being professionally customized. Playing with WordPress, I find it much more useful and user-friendly/interactive. It has many other advantages of course compared to my existing site, so I'm looking forward to sending it on the front line - replacing my existing site.
My friend's non-profit site is in a similar situation where he desperately needs a fresh look, more modernized, interactive, with the ability to boast various media from Flash to a video how-to page (Dos and Don'ts page). Since he's a non-profit, I'm trying to find a cheap but effective WordPress theme that we can have customized possibly by a freelance agent (assuming the other volunteers working on this project with me have limited experience with WordPress such as myself). The catch is...I don't know what "type" of WordPress theme I should be focusing on, e.g., a magazine style theme, a non-profit, etc.
Here are just a few pages that the site needs to boast:
[liAbout ][/li]
[li]Education[/li]
[li]Dos and Don'ts [a page that will house short vid-clips of what not to do in a situation and instead, what should be done][/li]
[li]Adoptions [this page needs to list animals that are up for adoption with 1 or 2 pictures of them and their story details...among other things][/li]
[/list]
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! If you think I should be focusing on a specific WordPress 3.0 theme, please let me know. I've been searching for
hours and just haven't found a theme and shouts "I'm the one!".
