Hi just wondering what your choice of lossless audio is, mine was wma variable bitrate but that has a problem when playing in winamp(it stops at the end for ages).

Gotta go with the GNU-friendly format! Problem is that OGG isn't very compatiable with windows media player(i've only been able to get it working via direct show), i personally prefer winamp but since it doesn't play all the WMA ive got i have to use WMPlayer .

OGG for compression (and usually quality) MP3 for compatibility lastly...(i hate M$, but...) WMA because you can compress a 6MB MP3 down to a 1MB or LESS wma.

Problem is that OGG isn't very compatiable with windows media player... Yep, and I hate Windows Media Player. It doesn't work very well on my Linux box Leave me with my XMMS (Linux Winamp Clone) and a bunch of groovy OGG's, and I'm a happy as a clam!

FLAC, lossless digital audio, 1/2 the size of .wav files with no loss of quality.
