Tomorrow is April 1st, which means two things - I need to hurry up and get my taxes done before the 15th, and it is April Fools Day!

Anybody planning any good pranks (offline or online) tomorrow?  Feel free to share your own April Fools Day stories, links and more right here!  Mmm Coffee

Anybody noticed any fun ones yet? First one I had to check out was Google, of course.  Seems Google has changed it's name to Topeka.

Quote
Early last month the mayor of Topeka, Kansas stunned the world by announcing that his city was changing its name to Google. We’ve been wondering ever since how best to honor that moving gesture. Today we are pleased to announce that as of 1AM (Central Daylight Time) April 1st, Google has officially changed our name to Topeka.

Let me know if you find any other good ones!  Thumbs Up

Looks like YouTube is also getting in on the fun - they have launched text only mode for all their videos.  The effect is actually kinda cool.  They say....

By using text-only mode, you are saving YouTube $1 a second in bandwidth costs. Click here  to go back to regular YouTube and happy April Fools Day!

Keeping with the Google trend here... Google Books now lets you view books in 2D or 3D:

Demo Link - http://books.google.com/books?id=uybFyRcJQdQC&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_slider_thumb#v=onepage&q=&f=false

(you'll have to click the "View in 3D" link at the top of the page.)

Yummy... got to love that Canned Unicorn Meat from ThinkGeek!

Quote
Unicorns, as we all know, frolic all over the world, pooping rainbows and marshmallows wherever they go. What you don't know is that when unicorns reach the end of their lifespan, they are drawn to County Meath, Ireland. The Sisters at Radiant Farms have dedicated their lives to nursing these elegant creatures through their final days. Taking a cue from the Kobe beef industry, they massage each unicorn's coat with Guinness daily and fatten them on a diet comprised entirely of candy corn.

You know it is an excellent source of sparkles!

Google Docs will now store physical objects for you!

Ever wish you could CTRL+F your keys? Store your keys and other objects you commonly lose with Google and you’ll never have to worry about finding them again.

 Roll

Over at Wikipedia, they are highlighting an article on the front page about the art of wife selling...

Quote
Wife selling was a traditional English practice for ending an unsatisfactory marriage. Instead of dealing with an expensive and dragged-out divorce, a husband would take his wife to market and parade her with a halter around her neck, arm, or waist, before publicly auctioning  her to the highest bidder. Any children from the marriage might also be sold along with their mother. Prices paid for wives varied considerably, from a high of £100 (plus £25 each for her two children), to a low of a glass of ale, or even free.

Hopefully nobody out there gets any ideas from this.  Thumbs Up

Here's a good prank: http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=148&sid=10233412 Does Pop really think moving out will stop this kid? I hope not. He would fit great into my family where you will find doorknobs greased with Vick's Vaporub, clothing and beds sewed shut, etc.
