Hi Jwink,

Although I don't post a lot on other forums, I like the following ones:

www.webmasterworld.com (if you can't find the info here on web design or coding, then you are likely out of luck find it anywhere else...faster than Google to find meaningful results sometimes)

www.sitepointforums.com (beautiful forum companion site to SitePoint tutorials, large and very good for web design)

http://forum.mamboserver.com (forum dedicated to MOS or Mamboserver Open Source, the content management system I use on one of my sites)

http://forums.devshed.com/ (DevShed forum, similar to SitePoint, have visited occasionally and it appears to be pretty good)

www.webhostingtalk.com (this is the infamous WHT forum that so many people note they heard about Lunarpages, I joined just to see what it was; good forum to find out about webhosting issues)

I also belong to some gardening forums, a photography forum, and have 2 forums of my own that I visit far less frequently than LF.  Sad

Jwink3101,

I help out quite a bit at http://forum.dreamweaverwebmaster.com/  When I first started complex web applications they were there for me so now I give back. Very Happy

I also follow my own forum, http://www.wxforum.com but there is not too much to follow there yet.  Sad

I also fly by http://www.phpbuilder.com/board/ when I need PHP help, http://www.htmlforums.com/ when I need HTML help and http://phpbb.com when I need help on my phpBB.

But LooneyForums is my board of choice due to the wonderful people..... Smile

I've been looking around and following various links to see how it works in places. I originally wanted a place to talk to some of my students without them feeling like they were being graded on their words. We do a lot of journal work but a significant amount of time is spent discussing authors and books. Some of my students feel intimidated when they speak in public. Giving them a safe place to discuss their views is important to me. I haven't found a place yet that is user friendly enough.  Some places just have too many inner wars going on and I don't want my "kids" involved in that.

Where do I come up with half the stuff I say?  Easy, I steal it.  I stole my avatar, I stole Danielle's heart, and I stole the term Looney Forums.  I am not sure who started it, I would bet Hush, but I can't confirm.

Do you mean... "forums", or "forums Wink", or "forums "?

I used to hang out in the forums at Principia Discordia a lot, but it got a little too weird (and by my standards, that's pretty weird). As for current haunts, I spend a lot of time doing volunteer tech support for the CuteCast message board system at Artscore, and I maintain three different message boards of my own. This is all in addition to the time I spend here.

In other words, I do a lot of board-trolling. Yes, I'm aware that I don't have a life.

Jwink3101, I know what you mean.  I keep switching back between the two names.  The poster formerly known as Miraenda.....

Hey, I would like to go back to Miraenda, but I have to have Danielle now. When I change my real name to Miraenda, then I can use it. I'll do that in like 6 months so that I can confuse you all again.  Wink

Jwink3101, I think it is our duty to help our friend out of this mess.  What are you thinking?  Miraelle?  Danienda? DM?  D/M?  MD?  M-D?  Miraendanielle?  Daniellenda?

I like Danienda so far.  Since I read the posts out loud now, Danienda rolls off the tongue quite nicely. Wink
