I've been trying to setup a Wordpress blog and am getting this message as the homepage set up by Softaculous. "Your server is running PHP version 4.4.9 but WordPress 4.1.1 requires at least 5.2.4." What am I doing wrong? Site is hargittphotos.com/wp/ . Any idea?

TIA Howard

I thought all LP shared servers were default to PHP 5.3 or so by now. Run the following test.php file:
Code: [Select]
<?php phpinfo(); ?>and see what it reports PHP is. Is this a dedicated or VPS/cloud server?

What does your account control panel (either cPanel or LPCP) say that PHP is? There may be a control somewhere to tell it to use a specific version of PHP. Make sure it isn't set to force PHP 4.4.9. Did someone manually put anything in the /.htaccess file to set a PHP version? Is this a new account or one that's been around a while? If it's old, was something done long ago to force PHP 4.4.9?

If nothing seems to help, open a support ticket (email support@lunarpages.com) and ask how to get PHP 5.3 or higher on your account.

I seem to recall hearing about this discrepancy a few years ago. If you can find a "change PHP version" switch on your account control panel, try switching back and forth -- I think some people reported that cleared it up for them. If it doesn't work, I'd open a support ticket.
