"Authorization Required" page after Web Protect fr
« on: March 06, 2004, 01:54:57 PM »
Hi,

I was wondering if it's possible to have a customized page come up if the user fails to log in.. so instead of a usual 410 Error page, i want to have it say.. go back to the main page or something..

thanks in advance

you can edit the 401 (registration required) page in your control panel under "error pages."

To make it redirect home, open the error pages page in cp, select the errors that you would like to redirect home by clicking on the link next to the error then put this code in the box (where yourhomepage.com = the url of the page you want people directed to):
Code: [Select]
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0;URL=http://www.yourhomepage.com/">
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>

When you are done click 'save' and you're good to go.

The '0;' before the URL tag is the amount of seconds before the user is redirected to your page.  If you want to display a message to the person who typed in the wrong login information for a second, change the 0 to a 1 (or however many seconds you want) and in the body section you can put in whatever code you want people to see before their redirected.  You can even put in the code from the page they were linking from and have them try again.
