Can anyone recommend a good starting point or web site to learn the basics?

I really want to put something a bit "flash"ier on my entrance page.  I have an idea of what I want but it might be a bit advanced for where I am right now

Kat it is great to see your interest in Flash. Currenrt version is Flash 5.0 and 6.0 should be soon. Flash can be frustrating at first. You may want to look at Swish or KoolMoves get the basic undestand of the format. These are both actually very powerful apps and to start you will be surprised at the amazing things you will be able to do ver quickly. I would give them a spin for a time while you are hitting thte books in Flash 5.0. The tutorials in Flash 5.0 are very good and you don't have to stray too far from hone to find them. Most of all have fun and let you imagination run wild...
You have picked the right place to ask the questions and will find plenty of the right people to answer them.
Now return your seat to its full upright position and have fun

Speaking of flash...These guys are WICKED.  If you have time to view all their presentations, you'll be amazed!  Even the popups look good! http://derbauer.de
They've won many awards.  No tutorial here, just ummm another dimension (or is that dementia?) Look in their menu for some of their previous stuff.  Very impressive.  In the menu, go to special, then "the fast".

What an opportunity to learn and they take it azway. That really is too bad! Do you remember who
the Producer and the Host was. \Maybe the subscriber base was too small to fund the program.
Have you contacted SkyTV to find out the why's.
Sounds like another sound idea gets gobbled up.
