I added an add-on domain and everything was fine. I could go to the page no problem, except that I couldn't login to the Joomla admin page. The Joomla install was previously a sub-domain of another domain.
So I removed the new add-on domain then I tried to log into the Joomla admin page again via the sub-domain. Worked fine... Deleted the sub-domain then I recreated the new add-on domain again, now when I try to visit it via the url http://mynewsite.com it redirects to the lunarpages home page through this url,   http://mynewsite.com/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi   I have no such directory (I deleted it) or file.
Now if I go to http://mynewsite.com/index.php it works fine.
I'm ready to pull my hair out. Any help would be appreciated !!!!!!!!!!

Thank You.....

I think I got it figured out. I had to clear my browsers' cache.
Now when I try to log into my Joomla admin page I get directed to the old subdomain page.
Oh well it's always some thing !!!

Hi VTD,

The cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi type redirect is frequently just a caching issue but if you can't get it cleared please do not hesitate to open a helpdesk ticket at https://support.lunarpages.com/ or send an email to support@lunarpages.com

Really appreciate this post. It’s hard to sort the good from the bad sometimes, but I think you’ve nailed it!
