I am going to register a hosting plan with Lunarpages. I would like to ask how to use MySQL with ASP as I am a new user. The question is:

- If I have a MS Access database file. I used the program Access2Mysql (as instructed by Lunarpages) to convert it into mysql file, then, what should i do next? Is it that I upload the file to the application folder (or somewhere?) if I want my ASP page to connect with this mysql file? Actually, I am still not quite familiar with mysql (I use MS Access and HSQLDB before as I am also a fan of JSP/servlet)  "[Smile]" .

Thanks a lots and regards,

Hi,

If you have converted your database, you will probably have a file which ends in .sql

If it is under 2Mb, you can upload it in the lunarpages control panel software, using a tool called "phpmyadmin"

If it is over that size, it's best to connect from home, with some sql software. You need to setup access from the control panel again, allowing the connection from your ip address.

Eitherway, you cannot just FTP it, as some people think.

If you have more questions, just ask   "[Smile]"
