just looking for some ideas on shopping carts....

I'm making a website for one of my friends.  It is about a ten page site.  Eight of those pages are the items for sale.(with about 4 items per/page)
She will be taking creditcards and would like a shoppping cart.

To process the credit cards, she will be entering the c/c numbers manually on a different site.

my questions are:
what shopping cart would be the best for this kind of a site??

after the customer places the order, can agora or oscommerce send the order in a email form to her to process the card/order?

I have the option of using frontpage or dreamweaver for the site, which would be better with shopping carts?

she will have the shuttle package and will have to buy the ssl cert and dedicated ip.

any advice would be helpfull

thank you

Since I have stumped everybody.....

I went ahead and purchased the ssl cert....(I assume I have to wait for this to be installed before doing anything else)....also have narrowed it down between oscommerce and Zencart for my shopping cart.

But...now what..??  I actually never have to publish anything from dreamweaver???It's just altering the code in the zen cart files?Huh?

let's say I use Zen cart.....are the following my steps for creating my site?

I have created the way I would like the  top and bottom of the pages to look in HTML in dreamweaver

install zen cart from fantisco area

set file permissions(who knows how I'm going to do that)

cut and paste my HTML in place of the headers and footers in the cart

add all my products to the cart

some how change the look and feel of the item's in the catalog(buttons etc..)

set up the basic credit card payment module

then do something else while we rake in the profits from the sales??

please advise (help)   and correct my order of things to what it should be..

thank you everybody!!!!

Sorry nobody replied to you earlier.

I'm not using a shopping cart system as of yet, so I can't help you thoroughly with that, but I can answer a few of your questions ...

1) To change the permissions, you can do that via cPanel (if you do not have an FTP client). Here's instructions how to do it:

http://www.lunarforums.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=8809cc0b92cacb6cdb59df3d52c6a839&topic=23694.msg185685;topicseen#msg185685

Make sure to check mark the boxes and NOT just enter the numbers, because the latter will not work.

2) To change the button images, you can create your own image buttons and just replace the default ones with your new ones. If you use the same filenames that the original buttons have, it'll just replace it without you having to change the references in the code.

You can basically do that with any images you want to replace.

Thanks!!  I will give that I try when I get to it.

Anybody else have any ideas on my other above questions?

Also, Do I create a index page/contact pages etc.. other than the shopping cart pages themselves and just link to the cart pages?

thanks
