Hello again..

I was wondering if LunarPages can provide a counter with improved security that at least needs an owner's password to reset the counter? I'm glad LunarPages have a handy panel with many features. But anybody that knows of the cgi path could easily reset others' counters.. It doesn't take more than 30 seconds to find out which websites are hosted by LunarPages..

Any comments? I removed my web URL as a precaution. I may need to come up with my own counter later.

Thanks for your time!

Hi,

If you are concerned about other people resetting your counter, I would suggest that you use a different one.

The counter script will be looked at to make sure it is secure.

Try looking at www.hotscripts.com . There are a lot of counters you could use there.

Thanks for your reply

Yeah. I'll be writing my own counter in a couple weeks.

Here's my concern about the default counter: first one can obtain the name of the counter from the html source. To reset, then s/he only needs to send his/her own POST request to http://victimdomain.com/cgi-sys/countedit.cgi with proper parameters/values.
