Please can someone tell me what version of phpBB is auto installed by cPanel, without me having to try it out first. Hopefully it is the latest stable release (version 2.0.3, although SourceForge.net does refer to version 2.0.4 released on 22/12/02, but there are no files to download), however if it is an earlier version then I may opt to do a manual install rather than mess around with an upgrade.

Thanks in advance,

Rod.

Just activated forum last week on my site, this is what the version info says at the bottom of the forum:

Powered by phpBB 2.0.2 © 2001, 2002 phpBB Group

Hope that helps!

Hi Schrumby,

That's great, many thanks for the info. Although it appears that cPanel does not install the very latest version of phpBB, I believe it is quite straightforward to update from 2.0.2 to 2.0.3. Therefore, I shall probably do a cPanel install followed by the 2.0.3 updater.

Thanks once again,

Rod.
