I am so happy that my relationship with Lunarpages is over.  LP looks like a good deal, but the headache is not worth it.  If your site just shows a couple of pages, LP might be okay.  Downtime isn't frequent, but when it is, LP clams up, admits nothing and wants you to leave them alone, and offers no compensation for the downtime, basically a big F-You for pointing out that they don't necessarily hit their claims of uptime.  If you site is script intensive, BEWARE.  If they don't like your scripts, your site can be shut down - quickly - and for no reason.

If you ever need support, they have a ticket system.  But don't expect to deal with the same person twice - ever.  It won't happen.  Be prepared to explain yourself, again and again and again, and be prepared to have them not understand the problem, again and again and again.

I would highly recommend using anyone else.  LP is no good.

as a consumer you have the right to do business or not to do business with whoever you choose,  but every hosting company has its issues, every single one....  you get one feature or service and they take away another one, or one is not as good as another, there is always something....

i am very happy with LP, yes i know they frustrate me too sometimes, in my mind there is no reason for long reply times on weekends among other things, yes they need to improve on some things, but every single hosting company has issues, its a give and take proposition.  But even with some of the frustrations i am happy with LP, even thought i could kick them in the butt sometimes for how they do things, i would have similar issues or dif issues with any company...   no company is perfect but they do need to improve and i hope they do..

i believe that LP is one of the best, why dont  you try web.com and then youll see what crappy service and downtime is all about...

I certainly hope you find the hosting company that fits your needs, but i know as a business owner myself that i cannot make everyone happy as hard as i try to.  so do the consumer thing, if you not happy leave and go someplace else.....

I am sorry you have experienced issues here, and I would be happy to look into this further for you If you can provide a Ticket# to go on? There are a number of reasons support is setup the way it is, which I cannot go though in detail here but the for vast majority it works quite well. Please also note the stability of our servers is priority, we cannot allow an account or a script to affect all users on the server or everyone would be posting here. Again I am sorry and I will look at your issue further if you have a ticket #.

I have to agree with unhappy.
LP does some things very well.  But the things it does poorly trumps the good.  I've had a bad time with LP as well and I look forward to when my account expires and I never have to deal with them again.

New users beware.  LP is not all flowers and roses as they claim to be.  And there are better options out there.

You know.  This is the example of too little too late.  The last thing I want to do is to explain myself AGAIN.

This is so unfortunate that I get a call for help only after the whole process turned to s#!t and I had nothing left to do other than go to a public forum.

Too little too late, it's like a mantra at LP.

lismarks - are you currently experiencing any issues with your site you would like looked into? Please provide your ticket number if so.
sidewinder - I see our techs are handling this and that you have made another change which will require another 24 hours for stats to show improvement. Sorry, I know that is frustrating. Maybe there is something in http://wiki.lunarpages.com/Keeping_WordPress_Secure which can help.
unhappy55 - please let us know if you change your mind and want some help. Matt and I are both supervisors.
