I am using Pegasus Mail ver 4.01 and cannot seem to be able to access my mail. All my settings are correct, but it gives me an error message of wrong user name or password. Can someone let me know if my setting are wrong?

Thanks,

David

You need to have authentication enabled for the SMTP server.

In other words, somewhere, in the settings of Pegasus Mail, there will be a box to tick, where you can ask it to send a username and password when sending mail.

From the Pegasus Mail FAQ's:

"You may also find that your ISP requires SMTP authentication in order to send mail via their servers. Pegasus Mail supports SMTP authentication using two separate methods, called CRAM-MD5 and LOGIN. You will need to configure Pegasus Mail to use SMTP authentication using the options on the SMTP page of the Internet Options dialog on the Tools menu."

The settings you need are:

Server name: mail.yourdomain.com
Username: you@whatever.com
Password: yourpassword

Thanks for the info, but it is incoming mail that is not working. I am using my ISP's smtp for out going mail.

I have incoming pop3 set for:

mail.dddphotography.com
username as drdave@dddphotography.com
I also tried username as drdave+dddphotography.com
Password as ***********

Thanks,

David

Found out the problem:

server is not: www.yourdoamin.com
it is: orion.lunarpages.com (or whichever lunarpages server you happen to be on).

Thanks,

David

Yes, replace yourdomain.com with your domain name/server name (either works).

yourdomain.com is just an example.
