I've set up a blog using Movable Type. My problem is when I try to send notification to my list of readers (from the entry winow) I get the following error:

Error sending mail (Sending mail via SMTP requires that your server have Mail::Sendmail installed: ); try another MailTransfer setting?

Do I have a setting wrong or do we not have this installed in Lunarpages?

I think that is installed, but I think you got a setting wrong.

People do use moveable type on lunarpages successfully.

Is there are settings file you can edit?

Thanks for the advice Stephan. I had a feeling it was a setting somewhere on my end. There's a config file called "mt.cfg" that I had set up incorrectly for sending mail. I had both SMTP and sendmail enabled, so they either conflicted or SMTP took precidence and it didn't work. There are a lot of settings in this file and I don't know which ones I should enable according to what will work with Lunarpages. Can anyone help in that respect?

If you copy and paste the contents of the file, we could help you.

Thanks Stephan. On a related subject here is part of the config file that has to do with ImageMagick support. I'd like to be able to add "clickable" thumbnails of images to my blog entries that are generated by ImageMagick (Is this possible?). Please advise:

# Specifies the image toolkit used to create thumbnails from uploaded images.
# By default, the ImageMagick library and Image::Magick Perl module are used;
# if your system does not have these, you can use the NetPBM tools instead
# (assuming that your system has these tools installed). Possible values for
# this setting are "ImageMagick" or "NetPBM".
#
# ImageDriver NetPBM
#
#
# By default, Movable Type looks for the NetPBM tools in three locations:
# /usr/local/netpbm/bin, /usr/local/bin, and /usr/bin. If your
# NetPBM tools are installed in a different location, you can adjust the
# NetPBMPath configuration setting. Note that this path should be the path
# to the directory containing the NetPBM binaries; for example, if your
# pnmscale binary is at /home/foo/netpbm/bin/pnmscale, you should
# set the value of NetPBMPath to /home/foo/netpbm/bin.
#
# NetPBMPath /home/foo/netpbm/bin

Thanks.

you should be already be able to do so.  if you upload through the mt interface you should see a popup asking if you want to create a thumbnail.  after doing so, mt will ask you if you want to create an entry using that thumbnail.

Thanks Charles. At first I didn't realize that the size in the upload window pertained to the size of the thumbnail and not the popup image.

I'm learning new things everyday and really appreciate the help here at LunarForums - you guys are great. I'm glad I signed up with Lunarpages and discovered Movable Type in the process.
