For some time now, i have used my public_html to hot-link pictures to another bulletin board with great success.  Now when i view the list in my index, it appears to be full.  When i go to file manager to delete .jpg files from my public_html, the unwanted .jpg files still appear in my index and i cannot see any recently added .jpg files on the list.  What am i doing wrong?  How can i delete unwanted files?  Why are recently added files not appearing in my index when they are present in the file manager?  Where can i find beginner level instructions on using the file manager, index, public_html, etc.  Thanks in advance for your help!

I recommend using a ftp program like cuteFTP.
It's free and you get a better control over your files.
It is still possible to use the filemanager at Lunarpages.

I noticed that somebody else was also having problems uploading:

this is because the PHP configuration has been changed, could this also be causing problems with the control panel??

Many of the files I deleted long ago via the File Manager still appear in my index.  Why?  How can i delete unwanted files from my index?

When i upload files to my File Manager and move them to my public_html, those files do not appear in my index.  Why?  What can be done?

Can anyone help?

I'm not sure exactly what's going on.

Try clearing your temporary internet files

Also, in CPanel, in the file manager, empty the "trash"

Thank you for the suggestions!

I have already cleared the temporoary internet files several times and emptied the trash from my File Manager.

It seems that .jpg files will upload just fine.  However, they do not show in my index, only in my File Manager.  AND, again, the unwanted files in my index are still present.

Any other ideas?

I'm having problems with dreamweaver.  How can I set up my local folder like my remote.  I'm having problem with my links.  I have three broken links.  Dreamweaver says link not found on local disk.  Help me.

You can set up your local folders like your remote folders through Windows Explorer.

If you switch to the "HTML" view in Dreamweaver you may be able to track down your broken links.

It is also possible to use the Control Panel (CPanel) to change links by editing the html pages online once you have uploaded them.

Broken links can also be traced in the statistics section of the control panel. There is a special page for doing this.

If you need more help, please explain very clearly what you are trying to do, and what error message you get.

Good luck
