Hi there, Here is where I am at..super beginner here!!
I downloaded the Fantastico Web builder, played around with the templates, read all the tutorials lots of times, understood somethings and not others.  I cannot find out how to publish a website once I have finished it in Fantastico.
I would appreciate any help
Thanks  emerald fairy

There is a publish option in the site builder. Perhaps reading this part of the manual will help:

http://website.lunarpages.com/index.php?pr=Home_Page&id=5&read=10&p=&lang=english

also:

http://website.lunarpages.com/index.php?pr=Home_Page&id=7&read=70&p=&lang=english

Hope this helps,
RandyT

I remember seeing that set of tutorials somewhere, but there are so many.
Thanks for your help. I thought it strange that I had two places to log into one was control panel or C panel, then I have to log into a different place sohoadmin, and work in there.
C Panel is over my head at present as is Coffee Cup,
In that first set of instructions you gave me are you saying that the Fantastico Custom Template I did is in my hard drive and I have to upload it to server lunar pages?
Sorry to be so new at all this, but I signed up two weeks ago and so far am not moving forward very fast, but I am trying hard to understand and learn by trial & error.
Thanks again emerald-fairy

I think all the templates and stuff are already on the server with the installation. You should only have to upload your files from your pc that you want to use on your site such as your images , graphics etc. You can drag and drop those onto the pages where you want them and once it is done you can preview it in a browser. There are controls for that in the Upper Bar (top nav bar). That can be seen here:
http://website.lunarpages.com/index.php?pr=Home_Page&id=1&read=40&p=&lang=english

Somewhere there has to be a "publish" function. I am still looking for it  Confused  I personally dont use sitebuilders and I am not familiar with this one but I will help you as much as I can until someone else comes along that knows  Thumbs Up

I will post back with any additional info I may find for you.
I hope this was helpful,

From reading this:
http://website.lunarpages.com/index.php?pr=Home_Page&id=2&read=30&p=&lang=english

it seems that after you do each operation like adding or editing menus, content, whatever, there is a "save" option of some sort. This obviously is the same as publishing ? So when you click "view website" what you see is what you get? hence WYSIWYG ? Hope this is what you are looking for.

Hello again, I understand most of what you said and I went for site builder out of frustration of trying to learn, as I said I couldnt find a publish button, and I have saved the pages etc. But when I type in my website www.enchanted-emerald-forest.com  its not online. I was wondering how to get it online when I finish
I will get back into that part you just showed me.
Thanks

OK, I am told that  the pages in Webbuilder are live once you save them and can be accessed once you toggle them to show on the menu. (as we assumed earlier) If you cant see the changes or created pages from going to your domain then it makes me wonder if you installed WebBuilder to your domain and not a subdomain or somewhere else ? We may have to get support to look into that for you and see if you have done something during the install that would cause this. You may have a look there yourself and post anything you find out here so we can troubleshoot this issue.

Hope we are on the right track here,

Hi Randy, hummm  well God knows where I installed it, but I have been playing around on it for a week or so. I must admit its a journey and a half for me. I just went into Fantastico and installed one thing/program the web builder I think it was called, I just clicked install.  I didn't know where it was going to. But I got an e mail saying to click on this link and I could go into it after I choose a password which I did, and then I had problems as I have to turn off the Norton Internet to get into it...took me two days to figure this out. But I click on the link in the Fantastico e mail put in my password and up pops my site
Thanks I am interested to know why it doesnt show up, I have no idea how control panel works and I keep reading and watching the tutorials to try to understand.

I have found the reason for your issue !   Bouncin for Joy

It seems that you have created 4 index type pages in your public_html folder !!! You have: Home_Page.html,   Home_Page.php,   home_page.html  and   index.php  !!!
Since the domain will always resolve to the "index" one, you need to rename the index one and the lowercase home_page.html and that should do it. You need to check all 4 and decide which is the correct one by typing the addy directly in your url bar in your browser.

This was probly done automatically by either not overwriting or renaming each time you made a page ? I am not sure since I dont use Web Builder, but this should get you on your way to solving this issue. I hope so. Post back if you need more help.

Hope this helps,

Where are you changing them at ? file manager in Cpanel ? FTP ?  and also have you figured out which one is the actual one you want to be the "home page" for your site ? We can go from there.Remember, the one named index.whatever is the one your domain will find first so is most likely the one you are seeing when going to your domain. We will go from there.

Hello again, I am in C Panel  there are lots of pages and there appears two sets of each page
example;
 About.html 3 k 0644
 About.php 0 k 0755
 About_Emerald_Fairy.html 7 k 0644
 About_Emerald_Fairy.php 0 k 0755
 About_Us.html 3 k 0644
 About_Us.php 0 k 0755
 Contact.html 6 k 0644
 Contact.php

the two home pages are down a bit past the other sets of pages I made

there is a home page way down further by itself  and on index.html  all by itself as well

When I type my domain name into search engines it says  web site may not exist
I dont know what to do  here

OK  I was in C Panel and I clicked on the first set of Home_Page.html and its the one I want
there are two in each set
 Favorite_Links.html 2 k 0644
 Favorite_Links.php 0 k 0755
 Home_Page.html 5 k 0644
 Home_Page.php

the one that is down further by itself is
 fantastico_fileslist.txt 0 k 0644
 fantversion.php 0 k 0755
 favorite_links.html 2 k 0644
 home_page.html 5 k 0644
 index.php 4 k 0644
 newsletter.html 2 k 0644
 old_index.html

there appears to be sets
like at the top they are in groups of two...but further down the page they are one

Gees what have I done...  Thanks  emerald-fairy

OK, in order to find what homepage you want to keep, you need to type in your domain
http://www.enchanted-emerald-forest.com/   then add to the end of it the name of those pages one at a time and see which one you want to keep. Name it index.html or index something, that will be the homepage that you see when going to your domain http://www.enchanted-emerald-forest.com/ . The others you listed are ok for now as for example: when you go to http://www.enchanted-emerald-forest.com/Contact.html  it takes you to your contact us page. That is probly a keeper (however I would advise resaving the page and naming in lowercase letter always)
SO go thru and use that method of typing them into your browser at end of your domain and see what is good and what isnt, then we can go from there. Sorry this is taking so long.

Hope this helps,

I clicked on the first set of Home_Page.html and its the one I want

OK then get rid of any other index named pages and rename that one index.html and that will be your homepage that is seen when going to your domain.com.

We will go from there,
