I am new to LunarPages and new to programming in general.  I downloaded the wordpress blog application but am not sure what I need to do now to get it setup.  Is there somewhere I can get a little setup tutorial or can someone point me to the next step?  After downloading the ap I clicked on the application and that took me to the blog and then I tried to log in and from the control panel it basically kept coming back with the fact that I dont have the rights to post a blog.

Welcome to LunarPages  Welcome

At this point, you have two options. You can manually install WordPress or you can let Fantastico (login to your Cpanel account -> the last icon will be fantastico; locate the script on the left panel under Blogs section) to handle this.

If you want to manually install this script, you can start here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress

I hope this helps!

I would highly suggest WordPress too - think it would be the best solution for a beginner and enough features to hold you over there even once you learn your way around.

I'm a newbie here. If I opt for Fantastico to do the WP installation, I trust that it'll handle everything? Sorry, I'm really new at this. I have my blog at WordPress.com and all I really want to do is to export my posts and import them over here with minimum fuss.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, once you get it installed on your hosting account here, you should be able to export it from WordPress.com to your WordPress blog hosted with us.

Mitch, thanks for the quick reply. Today I managed to install WordPress using Fantastico; it went without a hitch. Thing is, before the install I was asked for a username and password for the WordPress database. I feel that I want to change these two fields now (I've already imported all my WordPress.com posts over). Is this possible, and how should I go about it?

Sorry to be a pest, Mitch.  Confused

Change your username and password for your WordPress administration?  You can do that by logging into your WordPress account with us, and then click on your name where it says "Howdy (username)!".  You can also click on the "Users" tab and create a new user that has admin rights.  Hope that helps.
