This must be obvious, because its not in the FAQ, but how do I make my main page come up when my site is entered (ex: www.mydomain.com, not www.mydomain.com/main).  cPanel doesn't seem to have an anwer in the manual.

Hi Sixtrain

Try naming your main page index. It is also a good idea to name each page you got index in order to make it impossible for anyone to browse the directory where you keep your files.Make a separate folder for each page and name the folder with whatever name you find suitable and then name the html file in it index.

For the main page, in my root folder, I named it index.html. All others in the root folder are named according to that particular document. You can only have one index.html per directory, unless you want to name them index1... etc.

However, I have files in several directories, and I use an index.html in each dir. The index.html that I use in those directories are 403 (Forbidden) docs. So, should anyone get too nosey, that's all they'll see.

Yes, you can call your main page any of these:

index.htm
index.html
default.htm
default.html

and many others, but you're better off sticking with index.htm or index.html

If you are using php, use index.php
