Hello,

First I used MS Publisher...then I read on the forum that's a lousy one to use... Then I built the page in Dreamweaver, only to be completely lost.  I'm technologically impaired...I admit it!  I know how to write html, but I do not know where what or how to put it on my lunarpages server.  I'm rereading the cpanel information hoping that will help....

Does anyone know a program that is free or inexpensive that I can download that will walk me through each step in simple English? once I get my page built? aggghhhh! FrontPage express was one I knew, but I cannot find a download for it.  If you know of one, please let me know...in the mean-time, I'm still looking

Thank you, I mean it, I really do not know a lot about this.

Go the simplest way. Don't worry about a publisher. Write your html in Notepad. Save the files with the .html extension. Then use an FTP program like WS_FTP or Cute_FTP (lots of people recommend this but it contains nasty spyware), and just put the files into your public_html directory. The front page must be named index.html and after that it just works for itself.

Umm, I think their leaning something more towards MS Front Page2000. I don't recommend notepad for someone that doesn't know HTML...

I just visited your site, it does look good.

steinein, what spyware does cuteftp have?
I just reinstalled windows, so I don't have it anymore, but I am interested in knowing what it does!

I normally use bulletproof ftp but I stopped for a while because it kept causing problems. Normally it's good. At the moment I'm using DOS ftp!

technologically incompt, have you ever tried Dreamweaver? It's just an idea. It's not a bad webpage editor, it's easy to use aswell.

As you've already got it all up and running though, I'd stick with it, but it's an idea for the future perhaps.

Y'all are too quick for me. I can't get my own posts answered   "[biggrin]"

CuteFtp is very nasty, because if you get rid of the spyware the program ceases to run.

To the gentleman who suggested I shouldn't suggest Notepad...that's how *I* learned. Sometimes you just have to get in the trenches.

I only use notepad.

Well, actually, metapad (http://www.liquidninja.com/metapad), but it's the same thing...

There was a program I used for a while, similar to Metapad. It had quick keys to help me when I forgot how to do some tag or another.

I use Frontpage quite often (like when I've used complicated tables and want to move things around), although I despise all the extra tags it likes to insert for no reason at random intervals.

In the long run its all preference.   "[implosion]"
