I entered the DNS entries almost 2 weeks ago. The web site resolved two days after I entered the entries.

What's strange is that POP retrieval works fine but SMTP posting does not.  I don't THINK that it's related to my firewall (don't have any restrictions set up on it that I know of)...to try to rule out problems on my end, I tried from the Win CMD prompt:

telnet mail.myaccount.com 25

which failed, but I'm assuming that perhaps telnet is disabled for security reasons? Or should that work?

Thanks,
Jamie

go to the server tag in properties.  if 'my server requires authentication' is checked, uncheck it.  i know i saw that solution in a faq somewhere, but i can't find it for some reason.

Well, I'm not trying to be unhelpful,

but:

Telnet is not available, as far as I know

and

The SMTP server needs authentication.

If you are still have problems, e-mail support@lunarpages.com

yup as referenced here:

i agree. however, if you scroll down all the way to the bottom of the page for the following link you'll see that in order for some to get their outgoing mail working they'll need to uncheck the authentication option.

I think the manual might be out of date.

i ran into the same problem and unchecking authentication worked.  of course once i was able to send mail, i stopped looking for a solution so that a checked authentication would work.  i didn't see the point of contacting support if unchecking authentication would fix the problem.  though, i'm open to any ideas that would allow me to send mail and still have authentication checked.
