I just signed up for a new lunarpages account.  I have logged into the control panel and used fantastico to install wordpress 2.6.  I'm able to log in and administrate wordpress, but when I publish pages, nothing changes on my website -- the default lunarpages web hosting page just comes up and won't change...

I would think fantastico would be configured to install correctly on a lunarpages account from the lunarpages control panel, but apparently not.

Any thoughts / help?

Thanks.

Hi,

More than likely this is a precedence issue. You will need to delete the Lunarpages holding page which is index.html. WP uses index.php as the default start page. The Lunarpages index page is resolving 1st so that is why you are seeing it and not your WP pages.

You were exactly right.  I deleted the index.html file and everything works now.

Perhaps that is one of the things that  should be mentioned at the end of the fantastico install of wordpress along with the other tips given.

Thank you so much!

Hello.

I also am having the exact same problem (http://seantorbett.com), however I deleted the index.html file from cPanel X (and emptying the trash) and yet it still shows the Lunarpages placeholder page.  If I enter http://seantorbett.com/index.php I wind up at my home page and its all good.

Any clues as to what I'm missing?

Thanks. Doh

I am seeing your page t http://seantorbett.com.  Perhaps you need to clear your cache in order to see it - or else you did something else that fixed it.

Yes.  It was my cache...  I figured it out not long after I made the post.  I feel really silly right now.  I guess I spent too much time beating my head against the screen and needed a break...

Thanks.
