Hello,
 I hope I am placing this in the right section. I am not very tech-savvy and think I botched my smf install via fantasico? I uploaded the smf file to the "root" directory instead of the "public.html"
 Now, if I go to "http://linuxgraphicsusers.com/index.php" I see my smf forum, but if I just go to "http://linuxgraphicsusers.com/" I still see the lunarpages holding page?

 What is the best way for me to fix this?

The heart of your "problem" is that the server is configured by default as:

DirectoryIndex  index.html  index.htm  index.php

The default LP "holding" page is index.html, which is looked for before index.php. A better solution would have been to either rename index.html to something else (e.g., index.html.old) or just erase it. Then index.php would have been the first one encountered. As you have it now, the only thing that will run when a directory is given is index.php. If you have an index.html file in another directory, it will be ignored.
