Hello Peeps,
I’m trying to adjust my scroll bar on my site so they will only scroll the middle part of the web pages. Does anyone know how I can make this happen?? Check out the site, you should understand what I’m talking about if you scroll. I will be forever in debited to whomever clues me in on this ;oD

You would probably need to use frames to do that.

Thanks for the reply,
Ok, I’m going to expose how green to this I really am. Will this bring a huge amount of administrative effort and headache for this to be fixed?

Yes, it's likely to be a pain to do!!

If I were you, I would leave it the way it is. It looks good   "[Smile]"

Thanks for the complement. I'm just thinking it would clean things up abit if i can figure out how do make this happen. My intent is to have a whole bunch of jpg's in the family pic's area, so I thought it would be cool if I could fix this so family members could scroll through and still see the menu on the left hand side. It just feels like that's the way it should look. Not to mention I want to out do my brothers web site  "[Embarrassed]" )

What are you using for your web design? If you're using Dreamweaver, you can probably find an extension that does exactly what you want at macromedia.com. If not, check out places like dynamicdrive.com and hotscripts.com.

If you just don't want the text to be wide, just put it in a table the width you want it. It would look just as good that way. It does look fine the way it is.

Thanks,
I developed this in DreamweaverMX. So here's the deal. example: If I put a whole bunch of jpg links under the family pic's part of the page, meaning putting enough that would then require a scroll bar on the right hand side. When this happens, it messes up the icons on the left hand side of the page. I don't exactly know why it doing that, so I thought I would just somehow have the scroll bar scrolling just the main frame (where the jpg links are). That's where I'm pickled??

This is really hard to picture without actually seeing it. Do you have the icons on the left set at the top, vertically (in the properties box)? How are they getting messed up?

Dude, I found just what you're looking for. I was looking for a script for my site, but I kept my eyes open.  This is a DHTML script, so it should be really easy to install and it's nice looking.

Go HERE and in the middle of the page, under "dHTML AP (Absolutely Positioned) Scrollable Area" you can get the file and see a sample. Hope this helps!

This is a little different than what I was thinking of doing, but I like it. I'm going to try it and I'll let you know the out come. Thanks for looking out for me.
