How are the pics organized? Do you have a mysql database that includes the file names of each pic? Are you simply trying to find the pic or actually display the pic? phpmyedit could be used for searching a database quite easily. A simple PHP mysql script could be used to enter an item number and display an image that has the file name saved in the database. LP has several gallery scripts available as well, although I found them overly complicated for small galleries so I wrote my own.

Thank you Wektech - I have not edited my pictures for searchability.  This came up after the fact - I am not sure how to do this.  I can rename the images, and add key words.  Is this done in the "info" section of the image itself?  My gallery is about 200 pictures, quite small.  I will check out the PHP mysql scripts once I figure out what they are : )

Perhaps you can clarify what you mean by database/gallery of pictures. Are you talking about a collection of image files without any front end or listing at all? Are the images all in the same directory or have you organized them in some manner? Have you generated thumbnails for the images?

There are four groups of pictures in separate galleries, arrived at by a link on the first page.  They are in numeric order - and the galleries were generated by photoshop - other than that, no organization.  I only need the search engine on one of the galleries.

OK if I understand the situation, the gallery is just a bunch of images in a single directory. Do the filenames for the images correspond in some way with the associated item number?

It sounds like you created a "gallery" in photoshop, then uploaded this to your site.

At this time, I am not sure of anything specific you could use, however what I would recommend would be to actually install a gallery script to your site

These can be found either via Fantastico (if on cpanel) or softoculous (if on lpcp)..

This would require you to probably reupload the pictures individually through the gallery script, however many gallery scripts include search features.

I would install the gallery script to a subfolder, then provide a link on your main page to the gallery url.

I never knew you could create galleries in Photoshop. I haven't seen this feature yet.  Clapping
