I use two programs to manage/upload my website, that is CuteFTP and Adobe GoLive. I wonder if thses programs (especially GoLive) have a feature that uploads only the files that have changed and new files (deleting old ones). I use the site manager on GoLive wich lets me group the files and directories the way I want (drag and drop) while updating all the links automatically. Now I want to upload such a website. I guess that the method of deleting it all and uploading from scratch is quite primitive. Is there a function that uploads only the necessary files?

Imagine making changes to a 300MB or 400MB website and having to delete it all and upload again !!! There's got to be a way to avoid it...

That would take ages!

I use FTP programs to just upload the files I want.

www.download.com has lots of ftp clients.

GoLive has incremental and modified uploads.  I've never used them, but they're there.  If Golive is installed in C:\Program Files\GoLive 5.0_ENG,
take a look, on your computer, at...

C:\Program%20Files\Adobe\GoLive%205.0_ENG\Help\c21pw13.htm#1014675

Or go to the help section, and look under publishing, then Uploading and Downloading

Thanks for the info. I have found the FTP client in GoLive. It has many functions that are very nice, but I just can't figure one thing out (and it drives me crazy). The freakin' program is slow like hell and it crashes like a drunk driver   .
I can hardly use all the benefits of GoLive's FTP client. First I thought that it was the connection, so I switched to CuteFTP and the files were uploading damn fast !!! Switched back to GoLive and.... just waiting ages for a few megs to upload, and upload not completed due to timeouts and other weird errors...

Any GoLive guru here to help me?

Take a look at your settings for your site in CuteFTP...look for anythng like pasv or something like that, and compare them to your golive ftp settings.  I've been playing around with GoLive and it's working fine ftp-wise.

Good program too!  It's hard to get away from DW, but GoLive is nice.
