Newbie that I am, as I sit poring over books and tutorial sites, knowing that the road to mastery, or at least functional efficiency, is long...

There must be an easier, quicker way! I am going nuts - slowly - trying to upload a page, using my Dreamweaver, to an existing account at Lunarpages.

The existing webmaster of said account's off to Durrham, England. I'm in Tokyo, Japan.

Just one a page a week to upload, with a little picuture...This is all I need to do... But how, But how? I continue to pore, in the mean whiles. It's almost typhoon season. I think.

Humbly,

Ocularian.

If you have a paid account, follow these steps.

1. Visit http://www.lunarpages.com:2082
2. Click on File Manager
3. Click on the folder called "public_html" (the icon, not the text)
4. Click on upload files, select the ones you want and click on ok.

All done!

Good luck.

...or, just download cuteFTP at cuteftp.com and use that to connect.  If it's a paysite, the host is neptune.lunarpages.com and the user name is your account name, password is your password.  Also, you can set the default directory as /public_html/

You may want to try to figure a time frame where there may not be a lot of net traffic in your area and in the area of the server.  This can make a huge difference!

I too am in the learning mode. I thought I understood better than it appears...I have copied an index.html into the /public_html/ folder...so when I click on my domain name, shouldn't I be able to see the file (which is just a boring under construction site...until I finish creating my site). One other thing, I JUST got my nameservers changed, could it be a replication problem? Thanks very much for your help.

Yes, you will have to wait a few days for the servers to update.

It's not lunarpages' fault, it's just the way the internet works.

However, yes, once that is done, index.html will be your default page.
