I'm looking for a Virtual Server
[NOT FTP server]  to test my web sight
on my computer at IP address 127.0.0.1

there used to be one on windows 98

Try VirtualBox from Oracle. It's free and runs Windows and Linux.

What I use for testing is to first install virtualbox and then install a copy of windows as a virtual machine, then on the virtual machine I install WAMP.

This will allow you to build a virtual windows server on your computer without risking affecting your main installation of windows.

If using linux, you will want to use LAMP

"virtual server" actually has many definitions depending on usage, however in the case of this ticket, a virtual server would be one that does not have its own hardware but instead shares hardware with a host system.
