I was looking for another webhost, so I thought I'll sign up Lunarpages as it is mentioned on their website that they are wordpress friendly? Well, I am very disappointed that the setup for wordpress wasn't a breeze when compared to my other webhost, where I can just install as many wordpress as I want using their Fantastico. I am one of those "plug & play" ....

After all the "to & fro" tickets with support tech the past few days, they finally installed WordPress in my domain but now I encounter another problem; when I tried to upload my themes, I was surprised to find one folder and a message that says "Empty directory listing" in there. This means I can't see any folders and files for wordpress. Where are they???

So now,how do I upload the themes, plugins, etc? Do I have to create an individual folder?

Would appreciate any help and advice, step by step from the experts in this forum, thank you very much!

Hi,

If WP was installed on the main domain then you should see several WP related folders in the public_html folder (if you are on a linux based account). These should be wp-admin, wp-content and wp-includes. Your themes and plugins go in the appropriate folders that are in the wp-content folder.

Hi Michael,

Yes, I can see them in the file manager, so if I want to use filezilla to upload themes and plugins, how do I go about it?

Appreciate your advice & thank you.

You should be able to login via FTP, and then go to:

public_html > wp-content > themes

then each theme you upload should be in it's own folder there.  For plugins you would go to:

public_html > wp-content > plugins

Hope that helps!

Hi, this is the interesting part I encountered...

Normally, I know we should be able to see the folders in public_html
when I login via FTP using Filezilla, but this time I am seeing a lone empty folder
with these words  < Empty directory listing > below that folder.
I can see them in cpanel though, so how do I upload my files via FTP when the folder is empty Confused Confused Confused
for I am told that I need to use FTP for uploading MySql database, etc

Might double check and make sure your not logging into an older hosting account by mistake.  If not, then put in a ticket with support@lunarpages.com and they should be able to review the situation and get this checked out for you.  Thanks!
