Hi,

I just installed wordpress 2.5.1 using Fantastico script. The problem is that the theme images are not being rendered.
I had them working previously, before I decided to delete and re-install the wordpress 2.5.1, all done using Fantastico.

I have tried several times re-installing, but no go. What can be the cause? Does it have to do something with the problem on the server
side?

Check out blog.vicharbhatt.com to see what I mean. Thank You.

Odd... if I right-click and press "View Background Image" I am able to see the image, indicating that the link is not incorrect.  For example:

http://blog.vicharbhatt.com/wp-content/themes/default/images/kubrickheader.jpg
http://blog.vicharbhatt.com/wp-content/themes/default/images/kubrickbgwide.jpg

Those seem to load individually, but not when I view the site.

Ah, but now for some reason when you click on the above links, you get a forbidden error.  That looks like the culprit.  I'm not sure what happened there, but maybe you should e-mail support.

Yups, I get:

Quote
Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /wp-content/themes/default/images/kubrickheader.jpg on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

What can be the problem, as I need to solve this urgently to continue settings up the blog, and trying out different themes.

Do you have any type of hotlinking protection turned on?  Also might check the permissions for the images folder (should be 755).  Hope that helps!

Where do I see if hotlinking is ON or OFF? I can confirm that my /public_html/blog/*.* has 755 rights.
I set up new domain, test, i.e. test.vicharbhatt.com with wordpress installation, using script, and again, no theme images are being rendered!

Can it be a problem somewhere on the server side itself, or what else can be the culprit of this?

Yes, just had a look and you do have hotlink protection turned on, that is what is causing the issues - you can edit or disable it via logging into cPanel and then go to HotLink Protection.

Thank you Mitch for your help. I disabled hotlinking and ow all is fine.

Gotta be frank, do not know what hotlinking is used for, will read on this and see that in future I use it accordingly.
