Hi everyone.

I'm trying to install wordpress, and I can't.

I first tried to manually install it, manipulating wp-config etc, then going to http://www.mydomain.com/wp-admin/install.php. It just tells me the page wasn't found. (obvoiusly I was putting my domain name in there!). I had first set up an sql database, and allocated a user to it.

I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm using Filezilla to upload the files. Do I need to put it in the public_htm directory for it to work?

I did a quick board search and came across a post saying I could install it automatically using softaculous. So I tried this. However, when I click 'import' it says

The following errors were found :

    * There were some errors while importing the software installed at http://************.com

I've starred out my domain name, since I'm not sure how much info is required, but can obviously give it if necessary.

Can anyone think what I might be doing wrong? I'd really appreciate and insight you might be able to give.

Many thanks.

Ha ha! Please ignore me everyone, I was clicking import not install on sofaculous! What an idiot. All solved now. I'd been trying for about 5 hours before I posted, of course, as soon as I put the question out there I found the answer on own!

Thanks anyway, for being out there and willing to help fools like me.
