OK...I just installed WP via Fantastico.  That was fairly simple.  But...when I go to my blog and log in, I am seeing the .com version.  I go to www.mysite.com/blog to log in.

I need the .org version because I want to have an opt-in form on my blog for a monthly newsletter.  I know I am probably missing something simple here.

The dashboard I get for the .com version has these choices: Write, Manage, Design, Comments

The dashboard that I should be seeing should have: Write, Manage, Links, Presentation, Plugins, Users, Options, Import.

Can anyone  please help?  I am so confused.

OK, I did sign up for the .com version before I realized there were 2 different versions. I deleted the blog over on the .com side, though.  Foolish me...I thought that would help.

So now do I have to start over with a new blog name?

Not sure what you mean but you should be able to select the domain used when installing it in Fantastico. Fantastico only installs one version of the script.

Good point, WordPress did undergo a big chance as far as the user interface goes - so that would be something to keep in mind too.  Check out this post with screenshots to get an idea of what you should be seeing...
