Hi,

I didn't have a contest last month (March) due to being extremely busy and working to get done with my second job so that I would have more time to work on my various websites.  The Flash contest is back this month and it will be posted in several forums this time (Lunarforums, Deviant Art, Flashkit and SitePoint Forums) to get a wider audience.  That means the thread you will post in this time will be on skewed3.com instead of here, so you will need to join as a member there to post your link.

Here is the information for the contest:

Theme:
Abstract Reality (interpret this however you want Wink)

Prizes (for first place winner):
$50 USD money order
Award logo to place on your site (or print on your forehead as a tattoo)
Flash movie to be placed on Skewed3.com's homepage for a month
Permanent link on my links page to your site

Rules:
General Rules
1. The work must be created in Flash or another program that creates an swf file. It cannot be in another medium such as Quicktime, RealOne or Windows Media Player.
2. The software to make the swf file must be your software, not a pirated or illegal copy of the software.
3. The work must be your own images and pictures to avoid copyright issues.
4. The work submitted may not be on an illegal subject matter or inappropriate for those under age (sorry, I do not want to create an entry page to warn people that the content might be for mature audiences).
5. One entry per person, and the entry may not be changed once submitted.
6. No posting on S3 Forums to encourage people to vote for the movie during the poll phase.
7. The dimensions of the movie cannot exceed 300 H x 600 W.
8. The size of the file cannot exceed 1000 MB.
9. The work cannot have any sound, or if there is sound, the user must be able to turn it off/on.
10. I will receive the swf movie and the fla movie components (you do retain copyright to the items and the only changes made would be quality, sound, or size-related on my part).

Other Stuff:
In order to apply for the contest, you will simply need to post on skewed3.com at http://skewed3.com/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&Itemid=31&func=view&id=43&catid=2 wiith a link to your movie. The dates for submission and deadline will be:
Contest runs from 08-Apr-04 until 30-Apr-04.
Voting will take place on skewed3.com from 01-May-04 to 08-May-04.
The winner will be chosen 09-May-04.
---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- --

Please note that the voting will be in the form of a poll, where you must sign up as a site member to participate in the poll. This ensures that you are not voting twice, since I will have logged IP addresses to confirm that someone has not signed up more than once for a membership to inflate the poll results. The poll will be on the homepage of S3, and you will only see it once you have logged into the site as a member.

Please feel free to PM me with any questions, post them here, or email me at miraenda@skewed3.com

Have a Blessed Day

In case anyone would be interested, I haven't had any entries for this contest as yet.  This would mean any entry (if it is the only one) would receive the prizes, which does include a monetary prize of $50. Well, it is worth a shot.  I'm relatively suprised considering I did post on DeviantArt, FlashKit and SitePoint Forums  Crying or Very sad

Well, yeah, it is KB not 1000 MB. Obviously that would be a really large file. Thanks for pointing it out purepersian  Thumbs Up

How about I make a blank Flash peice which just shows a white square. I could call it memory. Oh wait no that would be surreal not abstract. Oh well there goes that idea.

LOL ... she just needed to create an arty-fartsy title.  She did say "interpret however you want", so there you go - she doesn't care if you can't do a Picasso and instead do a Monet!  Smile
