Quick question about add-ons...

I currently have an add-on domain that is home to a Wordpress install. (www.wordpressurl.com is hosted from www.mainsite.com/subdomain.)

I am working on a Drupal install that will take over that Wordpress site as well as other aspects of my main site.  The Drupal CMS will be located in my root directory.

If I use Drupal to set the path for the content that will replace the Wordpress site to the same path as the subdomain ... i.e. www.domain.com/subdomain will the add-on simply continue to function properly once I remove the Wordpress install and upload the Drupal site to the root?

Thanks much.

Greetings fkramer,

Rather than setup subfolders for drupal installations, you might consider doing this with traditional subdomains. Setting up subdomains to point to the same Drupal folder can be a bit tricky on Lunar Pages, but it's not that bad and I've outlined the process here:
http://www.lunarforums.com/index.php?topic=42641.msg305363#msg305363

I like to keep things neat and tidy, so I've made the assumption in those directions that you will be installing drupal into a /drupal/ subdirectory.

Enjoy!

"If you would like to add FTP accounts to your Sub-Domains you can check out this thread made by the wonderful Michelle http://www.lunarforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21643&highlight=  "

= the page for this link is unavailable and I wanted to know more about creating an ftp access to a subdomain since my attempt has failed.

I have set up a sub-domain and the idea is that another party can access this via ftp and up/download files within this particular diretory only - NOT THE WHOLE SITE.

I created the ftp account following the instructions and entered a specific name after the / (otherwise the new FTP user will have access to the entire public_html directory, so you say) under public ftp. Then things must have gone wrong!

I tranferred files into the specific name sub-domain folder (public_html) and created a directory by the same specific name   under public_ftp. - right? wrong?

Here is the problem: Using Ace FTP I tried to access this new ftp account (to test it out), with the result that I can no longer access my domain nor the ftp account and a large X comes up when I try to connect to the server.

In an attempt to remedy the situation I have now deleted the new ftp account and the directory within but I still can't access the server.

I had hoped that the "thread made by the wonderful Michelle" could shed light on this but alas, page unavailable.

HELP, please!

Hi Guys,
I need to bring this thread back to life mostly because I'm a little confused  Sad  I have a primary domain lapantz4less.com and a parked domain, discountelectronicsstore.net.  I want to make the .net address my primary and the .com parked.

Both domains are on the lunarpages server and the registrar info is updated.

Can you please tell me how to do this?

Thanks,
Chuck

That would need to be handled by support.  Drop in an e-mail to support@lunarpages.com and they can get that done for you. Smile

Thanks Mitch!  But before I do that, I have an SEO question that someone here might be able to answer.  If I switch my primary domain name which is currently a PR3 to the parked domain that is PR0, does my website loose its PR ranking with Google?

Just wondering,
Thanks,
Chuck

Well I am not an SEO expert - but I would say from personal experience, yes.  Your PR would drop back down to 0 with the domain change (if the new domain is a 0).  However it may recover sooner than most, due to the PR3 it used to have.  Of course, let me be clear that is speculation.  Only Google knows for sure what Google would do.
