cPanel - "Certificate Expired"?
«
on:

When I enter cPanel, I get a warning that the SSL Certificate has expired. I click through anyway and it doesn't seem to affect cPanel functionality. This has been the case for as long as I have been using Lunarpages. Is this normal? Standard? If not, what can be done to change it? And whose responsibility is it?

Could you give us your primary domain so that we can check into this for you? Thanks!

Checking out the login issues here, I see that the certificate doesn't expire till 11/2008. If you are getting a missmatch error though it is nothing to worry about. The security error which you see is due to accessing a URL in which the name of the site does not exactly match the domain to which we had put on our SSL certificate. As an example, "server.lunarpages.com" would be listed on the certificate as your server. However, when you log into control panel, your connection usually will go to "login.server.lunarpages.com," this is the reason for the mismatch error.
Depending on the security settings in your browser, this message can be triggered. This connection is still a secure connection, the warning is just letting you know of the difference in the name.
Next time when you receive the message, select the "Accept the
certificate permanently" (or something of that nature) and you should not see that message again.
