I expected b2evolution to work easily since it says "1 click installation!" but I cannot get support to help me with getting this running properly. I have followed all instructions and FTP'd b2evolution files to server, made a SQL database and add email to script as you are supposed to but I cannot get the blog to work. I also have no clue how I am supposed to get this blog onto my website. Any help appreciated.

Just to add to my previous message ...
I have reinstalled B2evolution today but still no luck in finding out how to complete the instal. I tried to access the file on the server URL but http://www.e-clipseproductions.com/blogs/   - nothing shows I get
Not Found
The requested URL /blogs/install/index.html was not found on this server.

I am unable to complete install as I do not know how to get the install page to come up or how to check to see if it has installed yet.

I take it you are downloading it from b2evolution's site an installing it?  If so, I would make sure that when you create your database and the user for that database, that you are also assigning the user to the database via the MySQL tools on the hosting account.  When browsing in via FTP or the control panel's file manager can you find the files that it says are not there?  That might be something else to check into.  Hope that helps some.

Hello, Thankyou for the replies!

I have B2evolution now installed on the server correctly but have a problem with login.
I just reinstalled B2Evolution, updated MYSQL and conf file -

Installation successful! Now you can log in with the following credentials:
The login here does to http://localhost/b2evolution/blogs/admin.php

Everything works except being able to login to localhost - http://e-clipseproductions.com/blogs/

I cannot login to this page /URL because NO LOGIN PAGE COMES UP TO give user name /password.

After B2Evolution install, it all said install was complete and when I went to login, it just gave me Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost.

When I click on your link http://e-clipseproductions.com/blogs/, I get to your site (which appears to still be in some sort of test mode) with the title "Blog A Title". Have you tried clearing your browser cache or forcing a reload of the page (Ctrl-F5)?

By the way, cPanel > Fantastico scripts > Blogs will install b2evolution for you, in literally "one click". If you need to re-install again (from scratch) for any reason, you might want to consider that route.

I have re-installed from scratch and get the same problem. Browser cache is cleared and I also tried ctrl f5.

How do I get Fantastico to install this for me then, I have never seen a way to do this in control panel? thanks

Thanks for all your help. I managed to install with the one click option, wish lunarpages had told me where this was when I contacted support!

I am still a bit lost as to what to do with this blog now it works. How do I add to to my website page, can I just add the coding into my html in Dreamweaver, will this work?
This is my blog page now -I need to have the B2 Evolution show up here with my background and menu.

What directory did you install it into? Let's say it was public_html/my_blog/. The file to run is most likely index.php, although it might possibly be under a different name. In your dru_blog.html page, you would make a link like this:

To enter the blog, <a href="/my_blog/index.php">click</a> here.

I don't know what the Dreamweaver interface looks like to do that, but you want to end up with HTML code that looks something like that. Then you can start tweaking the CSS and other code in the blog to make it look more like the rest of your site. That's something that Dreamweaver probably can NOT help you with -- you have to directly edit CSS files and even PHP code, but that's the price you pay for dropping in a canned subsystem.

When you go to http://e-clipseproductions.com/Blog/ the pages shows links, junk I want to remove and don't know how to. It also allows anyone to access user functions/admin for some reason which means anyone could change settings. How do I remove this or is it supposed to be that way? Can I tidy up the text, links somehow?
